Building Design Project

This architecture design project introduced several challenges to be overcome. It was a semester long group project. My group was assigned by the instructors without any input from us on how well we could work together. It is always interesting and a little bit slow at first when a new group is learning how all of the members work and what each person is able to contribute. The group was comprised of two students in the lighting/electrical option, one in the mechanical option, and I was the structural representative for the group. I think it is a good idea to combine the options for a project such as this so that everyone can pull their strengths together for a good overall building design. However, this project was assigned during the first semester that the students were in different classes based on options. It is unfortunate that we did not have more experience in our individual options before we came together to design this building. It was assigned in the last semester before thesis began, so there was really no other time to have the class.
