Andy chose to attend Penn State University during his senior year at Hershey High School (Hershey, PA). Graduating with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering has never been in doubt since then due to Andy's continual and long-time desire to participate in the construction industry. Also, during that year, Andy spent his weekday afternoons participating in an academic internship with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts; more specifically in the Hersheypark Engineering Department.
After his first year at Penn State, Andy spent that ensuing summer (2000) working for The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company (Baltimore, MD based) as an intern in their Harrisburg, PA Field Office. The following two summers (2001, 2002), Andy helped estimate multi-million dollar project bids and build a $40 million financial headquarters for Dick Corporation (Pittsburgh, PA based).
Presently, Andy works for Penn State University’s Construction Services (a subsidiary of the Office of Physical Plant; University Park, PA) where he has managed and assisted in managing several projects within Beaver Stadium, the President’s residence, and other intercollegiate athletic facilities.
In addition to pursuing a career in the construction industry, Andy is an Eagle Scout, has received several scholarships from the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) and the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), and is a Professional Soccer Referee. Andy is certified and referees matches from the youth level to the college and professional leagues.
