Technical Assignment 1

The first technical assignment explores the structural system of the Medical Office Building. The first part of the report describes the existing conditions of the structural system. The second part of the report discusses the applicable codes for the design of the building. The third part of the report details the calculation of loads for the building based off BOCA 1999 and ASCE 7-02 codes. The second technical assignment explores alternative floor framing systems for the Medical Office Building. The report describes four new floor systems and compares them with the existing system based on per square foot cost, architectural impact, and design impact. Technical Assignment 3

The third technical assignment considers the lateral support system of the Medical Office Building. The analysis includes wind loads, gravity loads, and torsion loads to determine the resistance to overturning and the memmber strength of each frame.
