Welcome to AE Senior Thesis e-Studio

Senior Thesis is a project oriented, two course sequence that provides a comprehensive learning experience for Penn State Architectural Engineering students using actual buildings and typical industry design and construction contraints. Students must maintain a comprehensive captone project electronic portfolio (CPEP) or their work on the e-studio site. At the end of each year, Senior Thesis students are required to provide a detailed written summary report and present their work to a faculty jury. From these presentation, a select group of students are chosen by the faculty to represent their class by presenting their thesis projects to an invited Awards Jury of industry representatives from all over the country.

I would personally like to thank Buch Construction Inc., Morgan Gick McBeath & Associates, Trammell Crow Company and the Architectural Engineering faculty at Penn State for all their help and support through the year.

The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) is a web‐based project and information center. It contains material produced for a year‐long Senior Thesis class. Its purpose, in addition to providing central storage of individual assignments, is to foster communication and collaboration between student, faculty consultant, course instructors, and industry consultants. This website is dedicated to the research and analysis conducted via guidelines provided by the Department of Architectural Engineering.
