Samantha D'Agostino

Samantha D’Agostino is currently a 5th year architectural engineering student at Pennsylvania State University.  She will graduate in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree specialized in structural systems.  She is president of the AE Honor Society Phi Alpha Epsilon and an AE Envoy.  She is also a member of the Golden Key Honor Society, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society.  She was the recipient of the James M. Pohlen Memorial Scholarship, the DeSimone Consulting Engineers scholarship, the Borda and Fernsler Families Scholarship and the Vincent L. Pass Scholarship.  Samantha works as a teaching assistant for the second year working drawings course and has assisted in research with AE faculty.  Upon graduation she will gain her EIT status and plans to continue on towards licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE).

Since enrolling at Penn State, Samantha has taken part in different internship opportunities.  Her first two summers were spent working at the architectural firm of Faridy Veisz Fraytak in Trenton, NJ.  Then during her third summer she worked with KSI Engineering, a structural consulting firm in Farmingdale, NJ which specialized in high-end residential projects.  Most recently she completed an internship with DeSimone Consulting Engineers, a structural engineering firm located in New York City, and was able to work as a member of a project team gaining both analysis and design experience in addition to a better understanding of the coordination and construction processes.
