Welcome to Nico Pugliese's Senior Thesis Biography |
|
Nico Pugliese is currently studying at Penn State University’s Architectural Engineering Department. In summer 2012 he will graduate with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering with a concentration in lighting design and electrical systems. Nico is an active member of the Penn State AE department, being a member of the student chapter of Illuminating Engineering Society.
In the summer of 2011, Nico held an electrical co-op position at Bard, Rao plus Athanas Consulting Engineers in Boston, Ma. At this firm Nico assisted associates in the design process of a number of large healthcare and institutional buildings.
Along with this professional experience, Nico’s classwork has helped develop a professional personality and work ethic. Academic projects throughout his course work focused on integrated design and collaboration between disciplines. One example of this is the ongoing IPD/BIM Thesis he is participating in.
Nico is also an active member in the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance MaraTHON. In the spring of 2010, he and a group of friends founded an independent special interest organization named H.E.A.L (Help Every Angel Live) which raises awareness and financial, and emotional support for families suffering with pediatric cancer.
Upon graduation Nico will be going to work for Girard Engineering in Falls Church, VA in the electrical engineering department. |

The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) is a web‐based project and information center. It
contains material produced for a year‐long Senior Thesis class. Its purpose, in addition to providing
central storage of individual assignments, is to foster communication and collaboration between
student, faculty consultant, course instructors, and industry consultants. This website is dedicated to
the research and analysis conducted via guidelines provided by the Department of Architectural
Engineering. For an explanation of this capstone design course and its requirements click here. |

Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work-in-progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of this BIM/IPD group. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design. |
