Report
HPR Integrated Design was responsible for developing three alternative design packages for the Penn State Ice Arena in an effort to achieve more efficient building systems. HPR began by creating a savings package followed by two enhancement packages. The ultimate goal was to reduce building energy usage costs while delivering a high quality product to the owner within the budget allotted. This report defines the strategies and processes used to develop and define the results of each of the alternative design packages. In addition to the BAE requirements for this thesis project, three members of HPR utilized skills learned in various masters courses to fulfill MAE requirements. |

The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) is a web‐based project and information center. It
contains material produced for a year‐long Senior Thesis class. Its purpose, in addition to providing
central storage of individual assignments, is to foster communication and collaboration between
student, faculty consultant, course instructors, and industry consultants. This website is dedicated to
the research and analysis conducted via guidelines provided by the Department of Architectural
Engineering. For an explanation of this capstone design course and its requirements click here. |
