Reflection
AE 481W/482 Course Reflection
AE 481W is the first part of a year long senior thesis capstone project. This semester focused on getting to know the characteristics of my building. Three technical analyses were performed to that found the project cost, schedule, components of each building system, local conditions, client information, project delivery method, staffing plan, and site layout plan. At the end of this semester construction management students attended the PACE Roundtable to gain insight on current industry issues. This helped me to develop my proposal for the work that would be performed during the second semester of AE 482. During the second semester I worked on completing the proposal I developed in AE 481W. I spoke with numerous industry professionals in order to gain more knowledge about my proposed ideas. After a few trips to Baltimore and a lot of hard work I completed two technical analyses and an industry analysis.
Both semesters did not have many scheduled meeting times. This allowed students the freedom to work at their own pace. I personally enjoyed the experience because it allowed me to focus and develop my own ideas. The final semester allowed me to combine the knowledge I gained in the past five years.CPEP and Discussion Board Reflection
The CPEP website was a great way to allow me to share my hard work with family, friends and industry members. I think that it is a great addition to the course. The discussion board was a great way to get answers to difficult questions quickly.
