Dan Baker

Dan Baker is finishing his fifth year in the Architectural Engineering program, with a focus in construction management at the Pennsylvania State University. He will graduate in May, 2007 with a bachelors degree in Architectural Engineering.

This past summer, Dan has worked in a variety of areas with Schimenti Construction Company in Mt. Kisco, New York. Working as an assistant in the Project Management department as well as the estimating department he got to experience multiple aspects of the construction process. This internship has provided him with valuable learning experience that will aid him in starting his career. At this time Dan is doing research on the Bed Bath & Beyond and Christmas Tree Shops retail space in Paramus, NJ.

Dan has kept himself involved throughout the years in activities outside of his academic work as well. Spending a month in Costa Rica building a house for the less fortunate, helping build a better community on a Northern Cheyenne reservation in Lame Deer, Montana, and playing for Penn State’s division one rugby team.

He is currently preparing himself to take the LEED exam to become an Accredited Professional, and he hopes to use this accreditation to make an impact on sustainable building methods in the construction industry.
