AE 481W & AE 482 Reflection:

The 5th year senior thesis is a very valuable asset the to the Penn State AE program. The thesis study helps bring 5 years of in class learning together in a culimination of professional responsibilities, communication and practice. The combination of faculty advisors and professional practitioners created a vast pool of knowledge to help the students bring together their thesis reports into something not only they can be proud of be also the AE department can be as well. The amount of knowledge learned in this 5th year far outweighs any that a co-op or internship could have provided. I personally feel much more comfortable in not only my analytical skills for the workplace but also in my communication and professional behavior as well and feel fully prepared now to enter the proud profession that we have all worked to hard to achieve.

CPEP Discussion Board Reflection:

The discussion board was an asset that should be valued by all the students. I not only learned from the questions I posted but also from other students questions as well which was very helpful in terms of ideas or topics that had not crossed my mind. The ability to have first hand knowledge from in the field professional practitioners is a valuable tool. And the willingness of all the professionals involved to take the time out of their busy schedules and help mentor younger engineering students is a testiment to how great the AE profession is truly is.
