The following proposal contains the proposed critical issues research, two breadth technical analyses, and the final technical analysis. The critical issues research will look at the issue of multiple entities as an owner. The first breadth technical analyses will look at using precast panels instead of brick veneer. The second will look at using a steel structure instead of cast-in-place for the courtyard infill. The final technical analysis will be an infection control risk assessment performed for Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Breadth 1: Precast Facade

This breadth technical analysis will look at using precast brick panels. In the analysis the precast members will be designed and cost, schedule, and site layout impacts will be addressed. A U Value analysis and heat and moisture transfer analysis using WUFI of the existing and proposed façades will be done to determine the heat and moisture characteristics of the façades.
Breadth 2: Steel Structure

This breadth technical analysis will look at using structural steel. In the analysis steel system will be designed and cost, schedule, and site layout impacts will be addressed.
