Technical Assignment 1

This report features basic information about the standards used in the design of the Pennsylvania Judicial Center, in addition to detailed calculations of seismic and wind loads, an analysis of the lateral system, and spot checks of members.

Technical Assignment 2

This report explores the effects of using an alternate floor system to the designed steel composite system. Alternate systems that were considered are steel noncomposite, open-web steel joists, two-way concrete joists (waffle slab), and precast double T's.

Technical Assignment 3

This report is an analysis of the lateral force resisting system of the building. Deflections were calculated using RAM Structural System, RAM Advance, and hand calculations. The Pennsylvania Judicial Center uses concentrically braced frames to resist wind and seismic forces.
