AE 481W/482 Course Reflection

As seen through this web-page, my Cap-stone project was the Borland Laboratory Renovation in University Park, Pa. Located on the Pennsylvania State University, University Park Campus. For the past year, I have been an employee of Penn State Office of the Physical Plant, this made the research for my project much easier. Not only was the building close enough to visit, but I spent most days working on the project as a supervisor of the owner.

I feel that the 481W/482 Courses were designed very well. The students were given enough freedom to work at our own pace, and at our own schedule. However, to keep us on track for completion, some small deadlines were made for check-ups on our progress. These courses were very helpfull in my development of being a profesional engineer. I developed great skills of forming reports and presentations in a formal and profesional maner.

To conclution, this thesis topped off the Architectural Engineering Major very well. It was a lot of work, and very time consuming, however was very beneficial to me becoming a profesional engineer.

CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection

The CPEP websites allowed the students to express their ideas in a more technological way. Alot more can be done using the power of the web. Also, this feature allows for many more people to have access to the research I have done. This fact makes me happy, knowing that my information is available to anyone, and not being wasted.

As for the discussion boards, I personally did not find a need to use them. However, I know many people found this helpfull, and I also used some ideas that I had read on the incomming emails. I would like to thank all of the profesionals that participated in this, and I hope that one day I can help future AE students as well.
