ABET Outcome Survey
AE 481W/482 Course Reflection
The overall course structure in the fall provided the push needed to make me realize that I had learned all the information and techniques required to accomplish the work in the previous four years. The fall course break down into three technical reports also helped to get rid of the intimidation factor created by the scope of the work required. The transition from the structured technical report with specific due dates to the spring semesters open schedule was a little nerve-racking. Looking back on it the open schedule really helped to strengthen my time management skills. The spring semester is really were I learned how important time management and the ability to read and interpret both design texts and design data really is to the successful completion of a buildings design. Overall I felt that both AE 481W and AE 482 provided enough support and guidence that the senior thesis experience is not as bad as we all make it out to be.
CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection
Both the CPEP and Discussion Board helped me greatly in my learning process this spring when designing the post-tensioned floor system for Parkridge 6. Being able to look at previous years and fellow students cpeps helped me greatly by providing good starting points in my reasearch of post-tensioned design. The responses and questions on the discussion while not related to my thesis were still very helpful and a wonderful learning experience.
