Thad Maugle

Thad Maugle is a 5th year Architectural Engineering student at The Pennsylvania State University where he is pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in AE with an emphasis in Construction Management.  He expects to graduate in May 2007 with a broad understanding of building construction.  Thad successfully completed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam in October 2005 and has spent the past five summers working in the construction industry gaining valuable experience.

During the summer of 2006, Thad interned with Gilbane Building Company in Washington, DC.  He participated on a $120 million, high-tech, government office building.   Thad also interned with Whiting-Turner Contracting Company in Baltimore, MD over the summer of 2005.  Here, he was involved with an airport terminal renovation and bridge expansion.  Both internships gave him a chance to experience the responsibilities of a project manager as well as a superintendent.  He was able to expand his working knowledge of building construction, build communication skills, and improve his understand of building systems.

Thad’s career goal is to work for a major CM company where he can confront challenges and responsibilities of a demanding industry and exceed all expectations.  He plans to work with the intent of gaining his Master’s in Business Administration and becoming a project manager with the capability to work on large, challenging projects.
