Welcome to Aric's AE Senior Thesis e-Portfolio
Aric's Bio
Aric grew up in Seward, a small town about 75 miles east of Pittsburgh, PA. He attended Laurel Valley Junior Senior High School, where he excelled in both academics and athletics. Although Laurel Valley was a small school, graduating only 50 students per year, Aric learned the value of hard work, discipline, honestly and integrity; enough so as to make him competitive at Penn State, University Park, one of the most prestigious campuses across the United States. He was accepted into the College of Engineering as well as being an invited walk-on for the Penn State Football team. Aric carried his success from high school to college. He was able to maintain a 3.6 GPA in addition to being the leader rusher in the 2002 Blue and White Game. After a few years of trying to excel in both athletics and academics, Aric decided that to be truly successful at either, he had to make a choice between the two. His choice was engineering and the rest is history.
Aric was accepted into the Integrated Master/Bachelors of Architectural
Engineering Program. He was inducted into Phi Alpha Epsilon, an honor society
for Architectural Engineering Students and passed the Fundamentals of Engineering
Exam in October, 2004. Aric accepted an internship at McLaren Engineering
Group, in West Nyack, NY the past two summers. At McLaren, he had the opportunity
to get experience with visual site inspections, common engineering design
and analysis, and many different modeling programs. Aric was responsible
to successfully perform these tasks both independently and with the direction of a
senior engineer. Upon graduation in May 2006, he plans on obtaining a permanent
position with an Architectural/Structural Engineering firm as an Engineer
in Training.
