AE 481W/482 Course Reflection
I like the overall idea of the thesis project. It gives the student an opportunity to look at the problem with his own eyes, without somebody guiding him into a right direction. Senior thesis forced me to think on my own, and helped me understand structural engineering a little better. By searching for the answers to my own question I was able to draw a big picture of what we learned over the last four years.
I had difficulty contacting the structural company of my building to obtain the needed drawings and information. As a result I fell behind the schedule and struggled all through the semester of AE 481W.
Overall, senior thesis was a very helpful experience. It helped me see the big picture of why we learned what we learned, and gave me more confidence to apply it.
CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection
CPEP & Discussion Board was a good source of information. I though that information was very valuable because it was based on practice and not theory. If I took advantage of this source and used it to its full potential, I could probably save much of my time that i spent on research. Every time I referred to SPEP & Discussion Board I looked through the archives to find the information I needed, but did participate in discussion personally.
