ABET Survey
The following ABET survey was taken by all fifth year AE students to reflect upon what we've learned and to ensure the class is following ABET guidelines.
AE 481 and AE 482 Reflection
The first four years of the Penn State Architectural Engineering curriculum provide an extremely solid background for success. Without the basis of engineering and design principals learned over this time, it would have been impossible to finish thesis. I see fifth year thesis as a way to use all that we have learned at our time at Penn State to demonstrate to our professors, piers and industry members that we are truly capable of success in the construction industry as well.
AE 481 was a valuable experience because I learned how to study every aspect
of a construction project. I finished the course with a better understanding
of the interconnecting systems of a building. Also, my skills in critical
analysis and problem solving were further developed.
AE 482 was also a valuable experience where I learned the importance of communication and maintaining industry contacts. The knowledge I gained during my research will certainly be useful in my career.
Overall, thesis was an enlightening and positive experience. Best wishes
to my graduating peers, and those taking on thesis next year!
