Technical Assignments
This document is intended to outline the issues I plan to research in the spring. Two technical issues and one industry issue will be explored throughout the spring semester. The technical issues will focus on Coppin State University’s Health and Human Services Building’s building envelope and
mechanical system. The industry research will discuss ways to protect a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) or estimate in the current market by focusing on controlling the risk of escalating material prices.
This document is intended to provide a background of the existing conditions under which this building is constructed. The assignment will provide an analysis and summarization of the project schedule, a description of each of the building systems, and cost evaluation. The cost of the building is broken down into the construction cost and total building cost and then estimated using D4Cost 2002 and R.S. Means.
This technical assignment describes the construction management techniques used at Coppin State University’s Health and Human Services Building, located in Baltimore, Maryland. In this assignment, the project’s existing conditions concerns, local conditions, client information, project delivery system, and the construction management staffing plan is analyzed.
This document is intended to provide information of how the project was executed. A detailed schedule is provided that reflects the phasing and sequencing of major activities. The site layout plan depicts the phases of construction as well as all temporary facilities and objects. A cost estimation of the building envelope, structural system and general conditions is included.
This documenMay 2, 2007the spring. The PACE Roundtable helped to identify many industry and technical issues. A summary of the three sessions I attended is provided in Section B on page 3. My industry research will discuss ways to protect a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) or estimate in the current market. I plan to focus my technical research on Coppin State University Health and Human Services Building’s building envelope and mechanical system.
