Devin Learn's Bio
Devin Learn is in his 5th year at Pennsylvania State University working towards his ABET accredited Bachelors Degree in Architectural Engineering. He has selected the Construction Management Option as his area of study. Devin will be graduating in May, 2007. He has grown up with an interest in construction working for several local contractors in his home town of Tunkhannock, PA during High School. That was also when he formed his interests in engineering and architecture through his class work in math, science and drafting.
These early jobs in construction gave Devin an understanding of the processes involved in the building industry. He later built on skills in construction and management through summer internships with The Ronco Group and Benchmark Construction Company Inc. During his internship at Benchmark Construction Company Inc. he gained experience in the role of a project manager working with subcontractors, creating project schedules, project accounting and meeting the owner’s expectations. This was a valuable learning experience that helped solidify his desire to work in the construction industry.
Along with the classes and work experience Devin has gained throughout his college career he has also been involved in several groups that have helped him grow as a professional. These include membership in the Student Chapter of the Partnership for Achieving Construction Excellence (S:PACE) and the Penn State Student Chapter of the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA), serving as the secretary.
