Executive Summary

Depth Topic 1 - Building Efficiency and Development Options

This research based study will explore the current relationship between building effienciency/sustainability and the development options for that building. The study will go on to identify the current issues driving these relationships.

Depth Topic 2 - Façade Construction

This analytical based study will explore the façade construction process and sequencing of Two Liberty Center. Several resequencing plans will be explored for their effects on the construction schedule, occupancy schedule, and any related costs.

Breadth Topic 1 - Centralized HVAC System

This analytical based study will explore the benefits and disadvantages of centralizing the HVAC system for Two Liberty Center. Analysis of the mechanical system design will demonstrate competence in basic HVAC design.

Breadth Topic 2 - Structural Support for Mechanical Equipment

This analtical based study will evaluate the structural changes necessary to accommodate the larger mechanical equipment resulting from Breadth Topic 1. Analysis of the structural system for Two Liberty Center will demonstrate competence in basic structural design.
