Architecture
Design and Functionality:
- The design of the building is quite simple. It has CIP concrete footings with load bearing CMU walls and precast hollow core plank. It is designed to mirror the residence hall across the street that was completed several years ago. This dormitory is larger and has two wings that are angled, connected by a central tower which serves as the main entry/lounge.
- Included in the program for the dormitory are 112 student rooms that will house 181 students. It is a combination of both single and double rooms. Also included are washer and dryer facilities in the basement along with social/study lounges, and a private apartment for a faculty member or resident personnel.

Building Envelope:
- The exterior of the building consists of several different elements. The majority of the exterior is a brick façade with cast stone integration. There is a glass curtain wall system on the North face of the building. A main central tower features a glass curtain wall and the structure for a potential steel channel exterior trellis to be added. The majority of the roof is a typical gable roof. It is constructed of wood trusses and asphalt shingles. There are several areas where it is a built up system which is simply a single ply roofing membrane with a quarter inch per foot slope. Also covering the entrances at the ends of the East and West Wing is standing seam metal roof.
