AE 481W/482 Course Reflection:

The 5th year senior thesis is a unique educational experience that provides a great foundation for the start of our careers in architectural engineering. This project requires the individual to be responsible for all work, which is a nice change of pace compared to most group projects in AE. Using drawings and specifications from actual buildings is very important in terms of this project; it allows students to think critically of all the engineering design problems within a single building. There is doubt that the senior thesis project prepares graduating seniors with the experience they need to begin their careers.

CPEP and Discussion Board Reflection:

CPEP is a great way of making our hard work accessible to the public. Parents, friends and prospective employers can all enjoy viewing projects from all options.

Having the combined knowledge of participating engineers on the discussion board is an extremely valuable resource to students. Also, the messege board allows us to gain experience communicating with other engineers in a professional setting.

User Note:

Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work-in-progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Kate Feato. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.
