Senior Thesis Reflection:
The AE Senior Thesis is a great, real-life exercise incorporating everything taught in the AE curriculum along with the necessity for independent investigations and research. The project provides invaluable experience to graduating AE students and does much to help prepare them to enter the engineering industry. This course is clearly instrumental in the culmination of an AE education.
CPEP Reflection:
The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) was a valuable tool for the completion of the senior thesis project. The online portfolios allowed for clear organization of completed work throughout the year. Also, making these publicly viewable allowed for faculty, peers, friends, and potential employers to view the work. Furthermore, archives of portfolios from previous years provided numerous great examples of how other students tackled this multifaceted, challenging project. |

Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the
pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐inprogress
for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Jonathan Coan. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was
flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been
incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original
design. |
