Senior Thesis Reflection
AE 481W/482
The senior thesis significantly increased my knowledge in structural design during both semesters. Having to interpret code and perform analysis on an actual building gave me a greater understanding of what professional practice is going to be like. The second semester was very beneficial and interesting because we were able to choose a topic in which we would like to focus on and learn more. Due to the fact that I wish to obtain a job in the D.C. area and may be working on government buildings I chose to perform a progressive collapse analysis for my final report. The knowledge obtained in thesis will be very applicable towards my future career.

CPEP Reflection
The CPEP websites were a great way of organizing and presenting work that we had performed throughout the semester. It is a great resource for outsiders who are interested in the AE program, the work required for AE thesis, or even for employers to get to know the people they are interviewing before the interview. Finally, the discussion board was very valuable in terms of getting information needed and obtaining that information fast. It was convenient to be able to contact industry members so easily, and I know the senior students appreciated it very much.
