Welcome to Alyssa's Senior Thesis

La Jolla Commons Phase II Office Tower is a concrete structure located in San Diego, California. Serving as an office building for LPL Financial, the building recieved a LEED-CS Gold Certification and is also the tallest and most advanced Net-Zero building in the United States. Tower II was designed to look like it's existing twin building, Tower I. Tower I, however, was designed with a steel structure. Cost concerns led to the design of Tower II as a concrete structure. Nevertheless, the buildings look almost identical from the exterior.

Throughout Fall Semester 2013, I will analyze the building's current structure. I will also develop a proposal for the redesign of this building for the Spring. In Spring Semester 2014, using my proposal as a guide, I will perform a redesign of the building structure. Please see this site at any time througout the next school year to view updates. Thank you!
