B. Kerem Demirci is currently a 5th year student in the construction option of the Architectural Engineering Program at Pennsylvania State University. In May 2015, Kerem will graduate with an Integrated Bachelor/ Master of Architectural Engineering degree. Kerem has been actively involved as either or member or officer in many professional and student organizations such as the Student Society of Architectural Engineers (SSAE), United States Green Building Council (USGBC), and the Student Chapter of the Partnership for Achieving Construction Excellence (S:PACE). Upon graduation Kerem will hold an Engineering in Training (EIT) status.
Kerem has been fortunate to experience many facets of the construction industry over the past few summers. For the past two summers Kerem has interned with Grunley Construction, a premier general contractor in the DC metropolitan. At Grunley, Kerem spent time as both an intern field engineer as well as an intern project engineer where he has gained invaluable experience. Kerem has also spent time as a research assistant for the Architectural Engineering Department at Penn State, which gave him insight into the research aspect of the construction industry. Kerem hopes to begin a career along the project management path upon graduation.
Outside of academics, Kerem is heavily involved with university athletics. Kerem is a five year member of the men’s club volleyball team and has been the vice president for the past two years. From his freshman to junior year, Kerem was a practice player for the six time national champion, Penn State Women’s Volleyball team.
