This page contains all pertinent programs for producing mass quantities of these Old Mains.  There are MasterCAM hot buttons and the NC file hot buttons.  There is a short description of the program listed.  Any other process concerns, please see Presentation 3.

This Front Face program can produce 5 faces at a time.  It utilizes a face mill, end mill, ball mill, and a spot drill.  It will be fixtured using a vacuum fixture.  For our production runs however, we had to complete each face by hand because there was no vacuum fixture available at the time.  This file contains the layout for our fixturing for the front faces and sides.
This program is the MasterCAM file:                                  This is the NC file:

This is the program for the individual faces:                    This is the NC file:

This Side Face program produces 4 sides at a time, enough for two Old Mains.  It uses a face mill, ball mill, and spot drill.  This file contains the layout for our fixturing for the front faces and sides.  It was fixtured using a box fixture.
This program is the MasterCAM file for the side faces:                       This is the NC file:

This program is the MasterCAM file for the grooving of the sides:

This flat roof (top section) program will produce 8 roofs at a time.  It uses a face mill to cut the material to the proper thickness.  A cutoff saw is then used to cut to the needed length.  This section, however, was done by hand due to the simplicity of the operations involved.

This flat roof (bottom section) program will produce 4 roofs at a time.  It uses a face mill, end mill, and spot drill.  No special fixturing required.
This program is the MasterCAM file for the finishing of the roof:            This is the NC file

This base and middle tower portion program uses a specialty vice where the bar is being held by the corners.  It uses an end mill to create effects and hole for clock.
This program is the MasterCAM file for adding the effects on these portions:         This is the NC file:

The top tower portion program utilizes an end mill and ball mill to create effects and a lathe to create the contour of the dome.
This is the NC file for the effects of the top of the tower, except the contour:

This base program utilizes an end mill and to create groove for inserting the plates.  Each base is made out of Walnut and its dimensions are 13" x 5" x 1" thick.  The Old Main is located in the center of the base.
This MasterCAM program is for the grooving and drilling of the base:              This is the NC file:
