Thesis Research

Green Roof

A green roof is the application of placing grass or some other type of vegetation onto the topmost level. Many benefits include reducing energy costs 20-70% per year, stormwater management, and increasing thermal efficiency.

Water Management

A proposed system will be incorporated into the plumbing system to circulate collected rain water through the system as ‘grey water’ for flushing toilets and laundry machines. The collection of rain water also will control the amount of water that flows into the local community’s sewer system to reduce flooding and contamination.

LEED Rated System

The proposed structure along with the two breadth topics selected can accumulate quite a few points that can lead to a LEED accredited building package. A LEED certified building is beneficial to the environment as well as be acknowledged as energy efficient.
