Proposal (Reposted 1/30/07)

Depth Work

Depth work will include a lighting redesign of four spaces, outdoor entrance, lobby, training theater, and an open office plan. I will be implementing a daylight design and integration of the electric lighting into the lobby and open office area as well.

Depth work will also include a redesign of the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS system) from a battery bank system to a rotary power system and the affects that will cause on the building. A study of Photovoltaic panels and whether or not they would be beneficial to this building will also be analyzed.

Breadth Work

After my proposed daylight redesign is complete, I will be analyzing the affects of the glazing area added to the office space with the HVAC design.  The added glazing may affect ASHRAE Standard 90.1 as well as the designed heating and cooling loads of the space.

I will also be doing a LEED analysis of the office space with the implemented daylight design to see what points, if any, would be gained from the new design compared with the existing design.  Also, what points could potentially be taken away from such a design.
