Lighting Proposal -(686 KB)

The Lighting Proposal Memo consists of the spaces to be redesigned for the Dorrance H. Hamilton Building. System integration issues were addressed for the selection of the four spaces to be redesigned. The auditorium, the 60-capacity classroom, the lobby, and the plaza are to be redesigned for senior thesis.

Technical Assignment 1 -(1,526 KB)

Technical Assignment 1 is an analysis of the existing lighting conditions of the building. Included in this report are the luminaire schedules, surface characteristics, and design criteria. AGI32 was used to render key spaces throughout the building. The ASHRAE 90.1 Standards were used to determine power density in the four redesign areas.

Technical Assignment 2 -(2,198 KB)

Technical Assignment 2 is an analysis of the existing electrical conditions of the building. This report is a summary of the existing electrical systems, such as the power distribution systems and communications systems.  Each section contains a narrative describing the general and special characteristics of every part of the electrical system analyzed.  A summary of the total building electrical loads and a check of the existing main distribution equipment is included in the section titles NEC Design Loads.  The appendix includes a single line and riser diagram, which represent the power distribution system of the Dorrance H. Hamilton Building.

Technical Assignment 3 (.pdf) -(4,976 KB)

Technical Assignment 3 (.ppt) -(10,280 KB)

Technical Assignment 3 is a schematic design proposal presentation. Included in this report is the development of a concept/plan for the lighting of each of the four spaces that address your design criteria. The PowerPoint presentation shows the approach to the design and the reasons for the proposed criteria, desired lighting patterns, and proposed lighting systems. The emplasis is on the design concept - how the light will render the space and the reasons for this concept.
