Technical Assignment 1

Clouser_Tech_1.pdf
This report gives a detailed description of the existing structural system which includes, the foundation, floor system, columns, and lateral force resisting system. At the end I spot check some member sizes and compaire my design to what was used. I offer explinations for any differences between what was used and what I designed.

Technical Assignment 2

Clouser_Tech_2.pdf
This report investigates several altenate floor systems and compaires them to a composite action slab on deck, which is curently installed. Alternate systems that have been checked are flat slab with drop panels, waffle slab, one-way concrete joist, and a concrete hollow core plank on steel beams. I offer a comparison between all of the systems, alternate and existing, and offer my best choice for an alternate system.

Technical Assignment 3

Clouser_Tech_3.pdf
This report analyzes the lateral force resisting system for The Weinberg Center. Detail calculations of building and story drift are included. At the end of the report I conclude that the design of the lateral force system in The Weinberg Center is controlled by service load deflections due to wind. The members can be designed smaller from strength, but deflections would be too high for occupant comfort.
