One of the areas I'm researching for my senior thesis project is the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) during the design process resulting in as-built models to turn over to the owner at the end of the project. In addition to BIM aiding in the design process, benefits can also be during the design and lifecycle of the building. With accurate as-built models, owners can effieciently create operations and maintenance procedures with those models that ease the process and make changes easier to update. Also, as-built models can prove beneficial with future renovations of the building and surrounding sitework. |
