Thesis Abstract

The Boston University Arena and Recreation Center serves as a central location for student activity. Located on the Student Village site is Boston University's Fitness and Recreation Center and Agganis Arena. The Recreation Center offers a wide range of facilities including fitness and aquatic centers, a 35' climbing wall, dance theater, elevated jogging track, gymnasiums, multipurpose activity and classrooms, raquetball and squash courts, as well as a sports medicince and rehabilitation center. Within the Arena you can find seating for 6,300- 7,200 depending on the event, 29 suites, an executive Club Room, several concessions stands throughout the main concourse, underground parking, and a multipurpose black box theater. The entire facility is about 820,000 square feet with a total of 6 stories and a cost of about $185,000,000.
