Reflection

AE 481W/482 Course Reflection

Overall, the completion of senior thesis was a great experience. I was able to meet many wonderful industry professionals, learn a lot about technical writing, and grow as a student and engineer. I will enter the "real world" knowing that I have a major project under my belt to take with me. Looking back, I'm also glad that thesis requires an in depth presentation. I haven't had to give many presentations in my time here at Penn State, so it was a great experience to stand up in front of my peers and defend a year's worth of my hard work. I'm also very proud of the fact that my project was chosen as one of the eight finalists. While it was difficult, time consuming, and sometimes very stressful, thesis was a very worthwhile experience and a great way to finish out five great years here at Penn State.

CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection

Looking back, I'm glad thesis required us to utilize CPEP websites. They made it easy and convenient to post and share work, and they also provided me with some valuable, while sometimes frustrating, experience in how to make a viable website. The discussion boards were extremely useful when information was needed, and a special thanks goes out to all of the industry professionals who answered the call for advice throughout the year. My only regret is not using them more often.
