AE 481W/482 Course Reflection

The senior thesis process taught me many lessons that will allow me to better adjust in the work place.  The opportunity to work through an entire structural design process alone gives significant advantage to Penn State AE going into the construction industry.  And through the guidance and help of AE faculty and the practitioners, this valuable learning process is possible.  As well as becoming better familiarized with structural design, I learned how to research new topics, learn materials on my own, and work effectively with those around me to complete a project.

CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection

For me this is the first time working with a website.  Although I was not able to fully manipulate a website design, basics are understood.  CPEP website was a very useful tool in submitting projects online.  And being post on the web, I was able to get some feedback and correction from my contacts.  The discussion board is a great resource in completing the thesis process.  Post from past years as well as questions posted by peers allow for wealth of knowledge and input from the practitioners were especially helpful in the construction management questions.
