John Pillar's AE Senior Thesis e-Portfolio

Biographical Sketch of John Pillar

John is currently studying Architectural Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University.  He is in his fifth of a five year program to obtain a Bachelor Degree, and is also working towards achieving his Master Degree of Architectural Engineering.  John studied architecture abroad in Rome, Italy in the summer of 2005 and is scheduled to graduate in December, 2007.

A product of State College, John is a third generation graduate of the State College Area High School.  He followed after his mother, Bonnie Pillar, and his grandfather, Elmer Etters.  While in school, he played a variety of sports including baseball, football, track and basketball.

In the summer of 2006, John interned at Hope Furrer Associates, Inc, a consulting structural engineering firm located in State College. In the future, John hopes to gain experience in the many different aspects of structural design, and obtain his PE license.

John is a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in State College. He enjoys listening to music, volunteering in the community, and exploring the variety of entertainment that Penn State and State College have to offer.
