Resume

Michael Abbondante is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University as well as architecture minor.  Michael intends to graduate in the spring of 2007 with a specialization in construction management.  For three years Michael worked at an internship with the Warren County Engineering Department.  In these years Michael attained technical knowledge in the field while surveying, and helping to oversee multiple bridge constructions in the county.  He also learned the technical skills with AutoCAD, as well as other AutoDesk programs for civil engineering.  In the spring of 2006 Michael passed his Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and concurrent with graduation will be an engineer in training.  He hopes in the future he will take the Professional Engineering Exam and become a professional engineer.
Not only has Michael had internships to hone his technical skills but over the summer of 2006 he studied abroad in Rome with the Sede di Roma program organized by the Architectural Engineering Department.  While in Rome Michael was able to study architecture, and historical design.  He traveled all of Italy with the program from Pompeii to Venice and studied the different cultures of a beautiful country.
Michael has not only experienced Penn State from an academic stand point but has also been highly involved with the University.  As a junior Michael was selected as a Penn State Lion Ambassador.  This organization works closely with the Alumni Association planning and coordinating several large scale projects for the University.  Michael has also been highly involved in Penn State’s Dance MaraTHON which is the largest student run philanthropy in the world to help prevent pediatric cancer.  Michael was selected as a 2007 Morale Captain and will be required to organize and plan the events that take place over the forty-eight hours of THON.  All of these extracurricular activities have helped to supplement Michael’s technical capacity with strong leadership, communication and organization skills.
