    AE 481W/482 Course Reflection

Thesis provided a real-life application of the sum knowledge I've attained over the past 5 years in the AE program. Instead of spoon fed problems typical to a classroom setting, AE481W and 482 allowed students to venture out and find actual design issues and tackle them just as a professional engineer would. Throughout the course, new challenges arose and were tackled by studying the issue at length and performing the necessary calculations to resolve it. In the end, the course served as a great guide to help 5th year students acclimate to life as an engineer without the boundaries set by a typical class.

    CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection

The CPEP website and discussion board provided another learning experience that accompanied AE481W and AE 482. By creating a website on which to post our work, we learned basic website design and learned to communicate effectively through a new medium. The discussion board served as place to contact professionals and ask their advice on any issues we encountered during design and analysis of our buildings. They were always prompt in their responses and offered guidance to help us see our projects to completion.
