also includes a basement, and an enclosed pedestrian bridge connecting the
Chemistry Building to the Life Science Building.

Part 2:
Primary Engineering Systems
• Mechanical:
o Typical VAV system, with hooded exhaust in laboratories.
The hooded exhaust is stainless steel and welded at every joint. The exhaust
passes through a series of filter boxes before it is finally exhausted to
the outdoors. The building’s cooling and heating are supplied by chilled
water and by steam which is generated on campus.
