Welcome to Adam J. Senk's AE Senior Thesis e-Portfolio
Reflection
AE 481W/482 Reflection
Senior thesis was a great opportunity to learn more about the design process and about a range of different systems in buildings. This opportunity also proposed the challenge of designing a fully integrated mechanical system. The restraints of class work were removed, and every choice had several consequences as a result. In addition, the self paced structure made the process more realistic, while allowing time to explore areas and systems not commonly talked about in class work. During the past two semesters, I learned a great deal from looking over drawings and specs, along with a better understanding of their setup and integration to one another. Thesis advisors and outside correspondents were very helpful resources for promoting the advancement of learning, and for review of submitted work.
CPEP Reflection
The CPEP discussion board proved to be very helpful through out the second semester of design. The board allowed the integration of students and outside correspondents to exchange information very easily. In addition, the outside mentors appeared very enthusiastic and eager to share their knowledge and expertise with students.
The CPEP website also proved valuable throughout the semester. The website provided an interface for future potential employers to examine and learn more about their prospective employee. The interface also allowed the easy transfer of information to individuals outside the university.
