Gregory Eckel's Bio

Gregory Eckel was in tenth grade when he began to weigh his potential collegiate options. Through his participation in the Technology Student Association during high school he was introduced to a variety of technical fields. Greg particularly took to the competitions featuring architectural design and drafting. Pairing this with an interest in mathematical and scientific pursuits he felt a degree in architectural engineering would be an ideal match. Greg visited several universities offering this field of study, and eventually decided to attend Penn State.

During Greg’s time at Penn State he has managed to divide his time among academic, athletic and social pursuits. After taking many courses on the various design and construction aspects of the building field, Greg decided to focus his study on Structural Engineering. During the summer of 2004 he worked as an intern in the electrical engineering department at Kling in Philadelphia, PA. In 2005 Greg wanted to get an internship in structural engineering and was asked to come back to Kling to work in the structural department. Greg is currently in his 5th year and is working toward a Bachelors and Masters of Architectural engineering degree.
