Jenny Hamp

Jennifer became interested in architecture in high school, when she visited the Mesa Verde ruins to explore Native American Cliff Dwellers homes. She desired to understand how their designers knew to use thermal mass, passive solar heating & shading, and why homes today do not use it. Exploring these questions led her to Architectural Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Today she enjoys studying sustainability, the concepts and politics behind the home building industry, and innovative mechanical design. Jennifer has been an officer for The National Association of Home Builders student chapter for three years, where she works to bring attention to green design in homes and the value to homeowners and society. She volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and organizes trips. She is a member of ASHRAE and SWE. Jenny has interned in related fields for the past four summers. This summer she worked with Buro Happold Consulting Engineers in NYC. She worked in LEED certification, sustainable conceptual planning, and HVAC design. Jenniferwill graduate December 2006 with an Integrated Bachelors & Masters of Architectural Engineering in the Mechanical Option.
