AE 481/482 Reflection
The senior thesis course at Penn State gives a good opportunity for students to combine academic knowledge to a real world project. This type of course bridges the gap between industry and academia and creates possibly the closest "course" relative to the real world and working experience. This is a valuable and vital portion of the curriculum and should be considered the greatest asset to the Architectural Engineering program.
The thesis program has taught me personally how to set goals for myself and made me realize how much work ethic is needed to complete a successful project. It also taught me how much we rely on other people for the completion of a project, whether it be structural designers, architects, or MEP designers, help is always readily available and appreciated immensely
CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection
As mentioned above, we rely on other people for guidance and help everyday. The discussion board provided a quick and easy way for interaction between practitioners and students to exchange questions and answers at the click of a button. The CPEP site keeps everything organized and is a good tool for reference while progressing through the thesis program.
