AE 481W/482 Course Reflection

Looking back on everything this past year, after finallying having had a few weeks to truly relax and enjoy the college experience, I am really proud of what I have accomplished. Had I not completed a thesis, I don't think that I would have fully realized everything that I learned over the past five years. It is because of this that I will say that it was a great experience. Although, I will remember all of the headaches and stress it caused, in the end it was worth it.

It has not just been Penn State that has prepared me for this project, but also my summer internships at Jacobs Facilities in Arlington, VA. I would like to thank the whole team there, but specifically Brian Mitarotonda and the entire electrical engineering department. Brian was a great mentor with everything as far as electrical engineering design and thesis advice. I learned so much with all of the hands on experience at Jacobs and was able to apply many times throughout the thesis experience.

CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection

Before this year, I had very little experience designing webpages, so i found the tepmplate for the CPEP sites to be very useful. I really thought that it was great to all have somewhat uniform and professional looking websites. I also thought that the CPEP sites were very useful. Not only for turning in work, but to also see my progress throughout the semester. It was great to be able to show everyone that wasn't a part of this year's senior thesis program exactly what I had been doing.

I only had a little bit of experience with the discussion board, but the experience that I did have was great. I really wasn't sure as to how to realistically model a complicated chandelier fixture, but the responses I recieved were very helpful in determining what would be the most effective way.
