Reflection

AE 481/482 Reflection

AE 481W focused on getting to know my building and its components. Three technical assignments allowed me to analyze existing building systems and conditions, costs, schedule, client and staffing information, and the project delivery method. Towards the end of the semester, CM students attended the PACE Round Table Discussion. There, we heard from industy members about current issues of debate. It helped formulate my specific areas of research for the spring semester. The structure of the class was sufficient in allowing for me to learn the layout well enough to determine areas that may suggest a redesign.

AE 482 allowed for a greater range of study, I narrowed my focus to Infection Control Risk Assessment reseach, a mechanical redesign, and an electrical redesign. This portion of the project required myself to contact several different industry members with questions. Furthermore, I worked with faculty and fellow AE students to help develop my work. This class was beneficial by requiring a lot interaction with others. I feel it's as close to a real world scenerio that could be offered.

CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection

The CPEP website is an excellent way for me to share my hard work with family, friends, and industry members. Thesis was a lot of hard work and it would be a shame to not be able to show it off. As for the discussion board, it was a great way to get tough questions answered quickly.
