Christopher Nicolais

Chris Nicolais is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree, a five year professional degree from The Pennsylvania State University. He has chosen to concentrate his studies in the area of building mechanical systems, with an interest in green building and is expecting to graduate in May 2008. Chris has been fortunate to have held various internships throughout his college career starting with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as an engineering, scientific and technical intern. His other internship opportunities came by working in the mechanical engineering departments of Greenman-Pedersen Inc., followed by a summer with Highland Associates, and just this past summer gained experience in the healthcare industry with Leach Wallace Associates. In pursuit of professional licensure Chris has already taken and passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and will become an Engineer in Training upon graduation. He plans to continue to work towards professional licensure and also obtain status as a LEED Accredited Professional.

While in school Chris has enjoyed gaining leadership skills and personal communication abilities as an active member of the Theta Delta Chi Fraternity. As a member of a fraternity at Penn State, he had the opportunity to lead the Greek community serving as the Vice President of Programming for the Interfraternity Council. This position allowed him to interact with university officials, faculty advisers and his peers on a daily basis. Other activities Chris enjoyed participating in include representing his fraternity as the recruitment chair for an academic year, as well as continually participating in community service and philanthropy events. All of his achievements have awarded him membership in the Order of Omega Greek Honor Society, the Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society and the Golden Key International Honour Society.
