AE 481W/482 REFLECTION

Overall, the AE Thesis experience has been great. I have learned to take in charge of my own information and design. Workng on designing my system has also taught me how to collaborate between members of the industry and sales reps to put together a project that works.

Throughout both semesters, the Techanical Assignments, Thesis Proposal, and Thesis Report have taught me invaluable lessons of organizational writing, technical writing, and presentation. Being chosen as one of the finalists to represent my option was also an awarding experience. I truly enjoyed the personal set schedule of the course and I even, should I say, had fun while working on my thesis.

Lastly, the thesis experience is one that has prepared me well for my transtition from academics to industry. I look foward in participating in thesis throughout the years as a mentor and perhaps when the time comes, a Jury member!

CPEP & DISCUSSION BOARD

Outside of class, I have always had an interest in web design and presentation development. Though I never formly took classes for either of them, I developed my ideas and skills on personal time. Being a winner of the CPEP award was a great confirmation for me that my design skills did not go unrecongized for the attention I have given it. CPEP, I believe also exposed me to the modern form of information presentation and sharing. By being able to create and manage a website will help me develope the skills needed for the modern age of internet dialog between clients and co-workers.

The Discussion board was extremely helpful in questions that can not be answered by professors and at non business times. It has helped me tremendously in aiding the discussion and redesign of my system to make sure that it "works". The mentors were a valuable asset to my project as they provided design ideas, feedback to my design, and considerations for the design. I look foward to the day when I become a mentor to help future AE's on their thesis!
