This technical assignment is an analysisof the Miller Children's Hospital Pediatric Inpatient Addition in regards to ASHRAE Standard 62.1. This report identifies the required ventilation rates and compares them to the designed supply air flow rates and determines whether or not the air handling units supply enough outdoor air to comply with Standard 62.1. Also included is an analysis of the systems and equipment requirements per section 5 of Standard 62.1.

This technical assignment is an analysis of the Miller Children's Hospital Pediatric Inpatient Addition from an energy standpoint. The technical report is comprised of several different parts: LEED-NC analysis, ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2004 compliance check, lost rentable space, mechanical first cost, design load estimation, and building energy consumption, cost of operation, and emissions.

This technical assignment provides a clear, concise summary of the mechanical systems for the Miller Children's Hospital Pediatric Inpatient Addition. It includes design requirements, external influences on design, major hardware components, system configuration, and operating characteristics. It addition the report considers the merits of the system as a response to the requirements of the building program.
