Biography
Lisha Brown is currently a fifth year in Architectural Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University, with a focus in Lighting and Electrical Design in buildings. Lisha will graduate in May 2011 with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree and a minor in Architectural Studies. The world of lighting design cultivates Lisha’s creativity and passion for knowledge.
Professional experience through summer internships has expanded Lisha’s curiosity for lighting beyond the classroom. During the summer of 2010, Lisha interned in the Philadelphia area for lighting design firm Grenald Waldron Associates. Lisha played a dynamic role in a design team where she worked on projects involving schematic design, lighting calculations, lamp and luminaire selections, and construction documentation. Lisha has also served as an engineering intern for The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, an estimator for the sub-contracting firm Shaffer DeSouza Brown Incorporated, and an assistant to Samuel Gordon Architects. Lisha is a student member of the Illuminating Engineering Society and attended LightFair International 2010 in Las Vegas, NV.
Lisha spent the summer of 2009 studying in Rome, Italy through the Sede di Roma study abroad program. This twelve credit program quenched her thirst for Italian architecture and love for travel.
While at school, Lisha has taken advantage of activities and organizations on campus. Lisha is highly involved with Penn State Homecoming as the Director of Special Events. Lisha has also actively participated in several philanthropies on campus with her sorority, Phi Mu. In February 2010, Lisha was elected to dance in Penn State’s Dance MaraTHON. Lisha’s dedication and enthusiasm make her an asset to all of her endeavors.
